I am a licensed clinical psychologist who earned my doctoral degree at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Chicago in 2007 . I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Illinois, helping those who are dealing with addictions.
My clinical experiences are varied and I have worked and trained in different clinical settings, including a social services agency, community mental health center, inpatient hospital, university wellness center, and group private practice. I have experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and families with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self esteem and substance abuse.
I use a collaborative and interpersonal approach when working with patients with a focus on psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive behavioral techniques. This includes helping patients manage their anxiety and depression using stress management techniques such as mindfulness and breathing to help focus their attention as well as exploring how their thoughts and behaviors might impede their progress. I also enjoy helping patients explore how family dynamics and patterns contribute to their stressors and relational concerns. |
